Job/Person Summary

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and highly motivated professional with the energy and vision  to play a major role in continuing to move our school forward. The successful candidate will be an outstanding teacher and leader with a firm commitment to achieving aspirational outcomes for all children. As a non - class based Deputy Headteacher this post offers a genuine opportunity to work in partnership with the headteacher to develop and hone leadership qualities and skills required for headship.

Our school:

  • Is a 3 form entry junior school with 354 pupils on roll in 12 classes
  • Is situated in the heart of Bishopstoke in a semi- rural position
  • Is within easy access of Southampton and Winchester
  • Shares a large site with Stoke Park Infant School and The Kepple Centre (PBS Building)

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Excellent in the classroom, with an outstanding ability to engage and enthuse children and has the skills to develop this in others
  • able to challenge, support and motivate all children and staff to achieve high standards
  • a problem solver and prepared to think ‘out of the box’
  • able to demonstrate substantial and proven senior leadership experience
  • naturally positive with a clear vision and passion for all phases of primary education
  • an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • committed to working with all stakeholders, particularly with parents and Governors
  • eager to take a full and active part in all aspects of our school community
  • a loyal and honest person with a sense of humour!
