Are you looking to make a difference and help children succeed? We are looking for an enthusiastic and approachable person to join our friendly Year 3 team in September 2018 offering in class support for our children, some of which will be providing individualised work for children where they may need specific support. This would suit an experienced person or someone who is looking to gain experience working in a school.
We are looking to appoint a dedicated TA to support, on a 2:1 basis, for two children in Year 3 who can be behaviourally challenging when they feel unsupported or unsafe.
Our team of Teaching Assistants each work in close partnership within a year team and our Inclusion Team to promote learning for all children. Experience of working in a school and experience and/or training in the delivery of intervention programmes would be desirable. Further regular professional development opportunities will be available.
The role will predominantly involve providing in class support for a specific child to ensure learning is accessible within a mainstream classroom with elements of small group and individual intervention to enhance children’s learning. You will work under the direct guidance of the year team and be supported by the school’s Inclusion Team.
The post is initially on a fixed term basis until the end of the academic year, with the potential to be extended according to the needs of the school for the following year and NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning in School is essential.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has the desire to make a real difference and impact to a young person’s life.
- Has the desire to work as part of a dedicated team.
- Strives for high standards in everything that they do.
- Can work both by being given direct instruction from the class teacher and use their own initiative.
- Above all is enthusiastic, calm, caring and friendly and has a sense of humour.
