Stoke Park Junior Remote Learning
As the school is now closed, children's Remote Learning will be emailed to parents each day and teaching inputs are recorded and can be viewed on the school's YouTube Channel. Links to these are outlined to parents, within the daily email.
Learning activities that are emailed to parents are based on the areas of the curriculum that would have been taught in class. A full guide to the Remote Learning Offer at Stoke Park Junior can be found in this section of the website.
Where pupils do not have access to electronic devices, paper copies of Remote Learning are made readily available at the school office.
BBC Bitesize have a new TV channel, podcasts, videos and lessons each day online. You’ll be able to access regular daily lessons in English and Maths, as well as other core subjects, in an expanded version of the website and also on special programmes broadcast on BBC iPlayer and BBC Red Button.
The sector-led Oak National Academy continues to provide its online classroom and resource hub. The Academy offers 180 video lessons each week for schools to use, across a broad range of subjects. The lessons cover children in Reception through to Year 10 and are free to use by both teachers and young people.
Bath University are offering a free online course that starts on 30th March for parents and professionals. Anyone can join in, but just needs to register first.
A Southampton intensive care nurse has created a book to help reduce anxiety in children caused by the coronavirus outbreak.
The free online publication, entitled Dave the Dog is worried about coronavirus, has already been downloaded 15,000 times and used in schools and nurseries prior to their closures.
It was written by Molly Watts, a staff nurse on the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), at Southampton Children’s Hospital, who penned it after a nightshift.
