School day structure

Stoke Park Junior School - school day structure

The school gates open at 8.35am, with the start of the school day at 8.45am, when children have access into the school building. Please note that the playground and general school site are not supervised prior to this time.

Once children are in their classrooms, they are registered and settle quickly into morning routines, including working on key skills, small group teaching interventions or 1:1 sessions.  It is therefore essential that children arrive at school on time.

The end of the school day is at 3.15pm, with pick-up either directly from the playground, or for older pupils at an agreed meeting point on the school site or at the school gates. Some older pupils may be permitted to walk home unaccompanied, with parental permission.

Members of the school's Leadership Team are out on the school site at the beginning and end of the school day.  At 9.00am they will ensure the outer school doors are closed and the building is secure. Children arriving after this time will need to be brought to the main school reception, where they will be signed in. At this point the child will be marked as 'late'.

Break time

Children have a break in the morning session.  We welcome children to bring a healthy snack from home, such as fruit or vegetables, sweets and chocolate are not permitted. A piece of fruit may be purchased from the school kitchen. Please remember we are a nut-free school.

At Stoke Park Junior School, a typical school week amounts to 32.5 hours.
